Titanic Voyage
CD reduced to $US19.95
This
section of A Voyage of Discovery investigates the various elements of
the Titanic's ill-fated maiden voyage.
The section contains five divisions,
each dealing with the following aspects:
On
Board Titanic
A priceless collection of actual photographs
taken on board, some of which are taken from passengers own personal
albums.
Titanic's Passengers and Crew
This collection of photographs enjoys
the notable distinction of originating from some of the more prestigious
passengers and members of the crew of the Titanic. At
left is a photograph of the very dignified Master of the Titanic,
Capt. Edward J. Smith aboard the Olympic, wearing his summer uniform.
Titanic's
Ports of Call
Apart from the Captain's log, this
collection of photographs must be the most accurate chronological record
of the Ports of call prior to the Titanic's attempt of crossing
the Atlantic.
Shown to the right are the anchor chains,
each link of which weighs a massive 175 pounds. When your CD-Rom arrives,
keep an eye out for a photograph of this same view, after 74 years on
the ocean floor.
Titanic
Disaster
"Iceberg right ahead Sir".
With these four words the ensuing night of terror was heralded in, culminating
in the worse maritime disaster of the time.
This collection of photographs and
sketches depicts the final hours of the seemingly invincible floating
palace.
Aftermath
This
sombre collection of photographs gives us an insight into the human
suffering and emotion that was felt by survivors of the disaster, and
their rescuers alike, as they arrived in New York.
The everlasting nature of this intriguing
mystery is preserved forever by a host of monuments and memorials erected
and dedicated to all souls lost, on both sides of the Atlantic.
