Navigation of the CD-Rom is achieved by the "Navigation Rose", as seen here on the left.

Each circular button on the outside of the rose represents a sub-chapter. By rolling the mouse over the button, the name of the sub-chapter appears in the middle of the rose. Clicking the button results in that particular sub-chapter being displayed in the main screen.

Forward and backward buttons then allow the viewer to change individual pages withing the sub-chapter. Of course, you can at any time start anywhere in the journal, and simply read the journal from cover to cover.

The Shipbuilder is the first CD-Rom in a four CD series.
